CANNP Officer Elections
2007
To maintain the energy and growth of
this organization, we must have motivated individuals with
new ideas in our leadership
positions.
Please consider
running for a position on the board and encourage your
colleagues to do the same.
CANNP by-laws allow an
officer to serve in the same position for two terms
only.
Each office has
specific requirements. All positions require the ability to
use a computer. If current programs are unfamiliar to you,
please remember that the officer currently in the position
will assist you to ease the transition into your new
responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Please read the
following brief job description for each position and
carefully consider your ability to perform these duties.
Remember the officer currently in the position will help
you learn to use computer programs necessary for the
position.

President's Job
Description:
- Organize and run the
meetings of the executive committee two to three times a
year, the association meetings and any special meetings
that are required.
- Act as the official
representative of the
organization.
- Appoint, with
approval of the executive committee, all special committee
members and chairpersons and serve as consulting member of
all committees.
- Ability to use word
programming for CANNP documentation, to include
Publisher.
- Oversight of CANNP
finances.
- Work well with other leaders
within CANNP and have the vision and insight to lead
the organization.
- Serve on the Executive Committee
for a period of one year after the term of president
has expired and provide consultation as needed the
second year.

Vice
President's Job Description:
- Be prepared to take
over the president’s responsibilities should the president
be unable to complete the term.
- Attend two to three
Executive committee meetings.
- Assist as needed in
annual conference planning.
- Serve as chairperson
on assigned committees.
- Maintain the current
membership including addresses on the computer program Mail
List.

Treasurer's Job
Description:
- Maintain current
records of all official transactions involving monies for
the organization. This is currently done using Microsoft
Ledger.
- Keep bank deposits
current and issue CANNP authorized payments for bills
incurred in a timely manner.
- Attend the Executive
committee meetings two to three times a year and report the
organizations financial standing at these
meetings.
- Give the membership a
financial report in the newsletter and at the annual
conference.
- Conduct all banking
duties for the organization.

Secretary's Job
Description:
- Attend Executive
committee meetings two to three times a year and enter the
minutes to these meeting into a
computer.
- Attend the annual
conference and report the minutes of the annual meeting to
the membership.
- Write an officers
update for the newsletter.
- Serve on committees
as needed and as chairperson as
assigned.

Member-at-Large Job
Description:
- Attend the Executive
committee meetings two to three times a
year.
- Attend the annual
conference and give a report on the current
membership.
- Complete all mailings
for the Organization.
- Write an article for
the newsletter twice a year reporting the current status of
memberships.
- Be responsible for
the annual membership drive.
- Edit, publish and
mail the newsletter twice a year. This requires using
Publisher 2000.
- Edit and publish the
CANNP brochure and mail to NNP schools yearly. This is done
in Publisher 2000.
- Edit print and mail
membership renewal cards with the summer
newsletter.

After Sept. 30, 2007,
the ballot will be published and mailed to the membership.
The ballots must be postmarked and mailed to the address
stated on the ballot by Nov. 1, 2007. New officers will be
notified and should be prepared to attend the Executive
Committee meeting the first of the year to learn specifics
about their position and computer programs used in the
position. This will be an all day
meeting.
